Japanese Knot Bag Kit

This kit will make the Reversible Japanese Knot Bag shown on the pattern cover page.

It includes 1/2 yard x 58” of the heavy green and cream jacquard, and 1/2 yard x 58” of the crisp brown lining. It includes a paper pattern on 18” x 24” paper so you don’t have to tape your pattern pieces together, plus printed instructions.

The fabric is from a collection of dead stock upholstery fabric I recently rescued from a small antique shop. I will be 100% honest I am not super sure how old it is or the exact fiber content. But it is the good stuff - the green/cream is very thick, and the cream is a cotton fiber - the green could be silk, rayon or synthetic. The brown is more of a lining fabric but it is a heavy weight lining (not flimsy taffeta) whose luscious brown depth of color comes from a warp and a weft of two different shades. Also unsure of this fiber content but since it seems to have been meant for linings (it is almost 120” wide coming off the bolt) my guess is synthetic.
